Mayor's Blanket Appeal

The Annual Mayor’s Blanket Appeal has commenced collection of donated blankets & yarn ahead of the cooler months in Kalgoorlie-Boulder in 2021.

The Annual Blanket Appeal is a project in partnership between the Mayor of Kalgoorlie-Boulder John Bowler and the Salvation Army collecting blankets for families and community members sleeping rough throughout the winter period.

The collection of donated blankets and wool commences at the start of every February and will run until June 1, 2021.

This ensures that our community’s knitters have enough time to make the blankets ahead of the Salvation Army distributing them.

Every year, despite how many blankets get donated, and how many are knitted by volunteers all blankets are used, and we need the help of our community to collect enough blankets for those in need.

Donations can be dropped to the Eastern Goldfields Community Centre, Kalgoorlie Town Hall or at the Salvation Army on the corner of Oberthur and Hopetoun streets.
