These incredible rock formations are a result wind and water erosion and are a must see when you visit Leonora.
The rocky outcrops have been used as a backdrop for weddings and they’re a popular camping place for locals.
If you’re into astrophotography, the Terraces are the perfect place to capture the night sky. With no light pollution around, on a clear night you’ll see more stars than you knew existed.
At the top of the Terraces, after a rain, the rock pools will fill with water. Some say that you must throw a little bit of sand into the pools to ‘introduce yourself’ to the place when you visit.
Did you know the Wongi word for Rock is ‘yapu’?
From Leonora, take the Leonora/Nambi Road out to the Terraces at around the 25km mark you’ll see the signpost to the Terraces where you will turn left. The next section of road can be challenging and is sometimes only accessible with a 4WD.
Please check in at our Information Centre or Website for road conditions and always travel well equipped with water and essentials.
The Terraces are also a stop on the Leonora Loop Trail – Darlot Loop.
