Listed as site 14 along the Granite and Woodlands Discovery Trail the Gemfields is a great location to personally fossick in the natural bushland.
Only 10.4km from the Norseman townsite via Mort Harslett Drive the Gemfields is an area of land donated to the Shire of Dundas and available for visitors to go searching for gemstones. You will typically find agate, an opaque looking type of rock found primarily in grey, white and green hues in the area.
Come into the Norseman Visitor’s Centre to see examples of what you can find.
The road to this point is unsealed gravel but suitable for all vehicles including those towing. Please always drive to conditions.
