There were eleven men who were born or lived in the Esperance region known to have served in the 10th Light Horse or other regiments.

The ‘Light Horseman Mural’ was unveiled by the RSL at the 2017 Anzac Service, April 25th and depicts the historic charge the 4th Light Horse Brigade made on the fortified town of Beersheba in the Battle of Beersheba, October 1917.

This mural was designed and painted by Perth based Artist Graeme Miles Richards to mark 100 years since this battle. It is located in Charles Wilson Arcade on Dempster Street.

Artist Graeme Richard Miles was born in Nelson New Zealand, moving to Perth more than 30 years ago, where he set up his business Art Fresco Design. He has extensive experience in creating custom artwork in a range of themes and styles.
