In April 2010, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Boulder, devastating a lot of the old buildings in Burt Street. The local council and State Government spent more than $8 million to restore the buildings and the facades.
Historic Burt Street is now a hive of activity again, with several cafés, coffee shops and speciality stores lining the street, as well as the iconic Boulder Town Hall, popular pubs and restaurants.
