The beautifully preserved Boulder Town Hall was built in 1908 in the Federation Free Style form and was designed and built largely by locals, using local materials where possible.
The heritage-listed hall is made of pressed tin ceilings and filigree wrought iron balustrades and features a grand ballroom, Council Chamber and dress circle, all of which has hosted several big-name guests over the years, including AC/DC, Dame Nellie Melba, Eileen Joyce and Joan Sutherland.
The hall also homes the priceless Philip Goatcher stage curtain depicting the Bay of Naples. The curtain is believed to be the last remaining one of its kind.
Tours of this magnificent building are held twice a week. The tours are a must-do and highly recommended.
Today, the hall is also home to the Goldfields War Museum and Local History Archives.
