Located on the southeast coast of Western Australia, approximately 725kms east-southeast from Perth and almost 400kms south from Kalgoorlie is the Shire of Esperance.

The shire extends from Munglinup to Israelite Bay and north to the Daniell rail siding covering an area of over 42,000km².

The townsite of Esperance, named after the first ship to make landfall, the Espérance, in 1792, hugs the spectacular coastline and is a popular tourist destination for its natural beauty, pristine white beaches, the 110 islands of the Recherche Archipelago, and colourful wildflower trails. With a number of national parks to explore, as well as discovering its history, Esperance provides a range of land, ocean and sky activities to keep visitors captivated by its beauty and curious to its history.
