The ‘Directional Mosaic’ sculpture was designed by Sculpture Artist Anne O’Neill and commissioned by the Esperance Shire Council as part of the 2000 refurbishment of the Post Office Square.
The post office square mosaics are approx 6m in diameter, with the smaller mosaics approx 3m in diameter, and constructed from granite slabs edged with blue and green tiles and copper arrows.
Anne also designed and constructed the ‘Memorial Wall’ also located in Post Office Square.
Anne O’Neill gained a BA in Art and Design at Curtin University of Technology and in 1992 completed a Post Graduate Diploma in sculpture at the Australian National University. Anne held eleven solo exhibitions between 1988-2003 and completed a large number of sculptural and public art commissions both in WA and Canberra between 1992-2011.
