Description
The ‘Hermon’ fish sculpture was created by Lake Grace artist Kerrie Argent for the Esperance Community Arts 2015 Seatscape Event as part of ‘The Something from Nothing’ Community Sculpture Project.
The project involved a series of workshops over 4 months with Lake Grace Artist Kerrie Argent using recycled materials – cardboard, metal, plastic and fabric. Community members decorated and attached the plastic scales on the fish at the event.
Based on the Cannery Arts Centre logo, a combination of a herring and a salmon, Hermon was initially installed at the jetty headland in May 2015, later displayed in an exhibition at the Cannery and then gifted for permanent installation in the Cannery Arts Centre ‘Windgarden.’
