Mylies Beach got its name from a local farmer and publican (Mr Wildwaters) who had a fishing camp in this spot for many years.
It is remarkable because of its low limestone cliffs that border the coastal creek.
From the picnic area hidden in the sand dunes, it is a short walk (approximately 600m) to the beach.
Mylies is an excellent spot to see southern right whales during the winter, which sometimes shelter close to shore with their calves.
It is also known as a great fishing spot for visitors and beachgoers.
