Laverton Aboriginal Art Gallery

Description

Located in a heritage-listed building which was once a mine manager’s residence, the Gallery displays and sells art and craft made by local Wongatha people who have connections to the land and share their stories through their art.

As well as paintings, you can also browse a wide range of wooden artefacts such as didgeridoos, bowls, boomerangs, digging, tapping and hitting sticks and beads.

They also display hand-painted emu eggs, woven baskets, and the Marlu Kuru Kuru women’s artist collective hand-dyed silk scarves which are of particular interest!

The gallery is opening Monday to Friday 8 am until 4 pm, or by appointment on weekends.

Well worth a visit whilst in Laverton!
