Description

The memorial at Twilight Beach is in honour of 17-year-old Laeticia Brouwer, a keen surfer who lost her life while visiting Esperance with her family in 2017.

The memorial was designed by Kym Polkinghorne, School Trainer from the Wongutha Christian Aboriginal School and features a replica of Laeticia’s surfboard surrounded by five jetty pieces, representing each member of the family.

The memorial was created with assistance from Wongutha students and installed at Twilight Beach in July 2020.
