Listen to the earth breath, that is the impression you get when you stop at the Caiguna Blowhole.
Located 5 km west of Caiguna and just off the Eyre Highway, the Blowhole is an opportunity to take a road stop and experience the fascinating natural sounds.
Blowholes are the result of the weathering of limestone, forming caves along the Nullarbor. As weather systems pass along throughout the caves, the holes breathe in and out. The caves breathe in when air pressure rises and out with low pressure. Depending on the weather, when standing above the cave you can feel the ‘whoosh’ of the cave breathing out.
There is signage about the caves and a Blowhole next to the cave.
There is plenty of room for large vehicles to pull into this area.
