Description
These colourful footpath mosaics depict a range of sea creatures. Twenty medium tiles and eight small tiles can be found as you stroll along Andrew Street.
This project was commissioned by the Shire of Esperance, designed and created by local artists Chris Siemer and Dan Gentle.
Chris Siemer has lived in Esperance since 1956 and has had a lifelong interest in art, graduating with a Diploma in Art and Design in 1991 from the Claremont School of Art in Perth.
In 1992, Chris built a studio where he incorporated a foundry for art castings and his interest in bronze sculpting developed.
He teamed up with Dan Gentle to run the business Esperance Art Castings and has produced many public artworks in Esperance and further afield.
This is site 72 on the Esperance Arts and Culture Trail map.
